I am giving away 7 different prizes. One of my favorite game shows was and still is Let's Make A Deal. On the show, a contestant is offered a choice of curtains, boxes or envelopes containing a prize.
Sometime the prize is amazing and other times its a zonk!
I promise there are no ZONKs among my prizes. Like the old adage, "don't judge a book by its cover," I suggest you don't judge the prizes by what they look like. I may have hidden extra prizes inside.
Here are the prizes:
Prize #1 - Toiletry Travel Bag (min. value: $35)
Prize # 3 - Fairmont Moleskine Notebook (min value $10)
Prize # 5 - Delta Ipad Case (min. value: $??)
Prize # 6 - Stack of Gift Cards (min. value $25)
Prize # 7 - Tumbler Cup (min. value $2)
The minimum values of all the prizes add up to over $100, but I promise there is over $400 worth of prizes.
Dates: Monday August 26th until Friday August 31st @ 11:59 pm Eastern Standard Time.
Winners will be chosen and notified next weekend.

Doing all those silly partner activities for a Delta bonus several years ago similar to US Airways Grand Slam. Definitely bought stuff, sent flowers, etc that I had no use for!
ReplyDeleteAfter hearing comments by my family and friends, I have to say the dollar coins are still my craziest mileage earning scheme.
ReplyDeleteDollar coins, us airways grand slam, pet dog food, bluebird... those are a few of my crazy things
ReplyDeleteagree with Cacinda, Bluebrid is crazy :)
ReplyDeleteOne crazy way I earn extra points is to register for any and all promotions for IHG hotels.
ReplyDeleteasking friends and family for their coke bottle caps for MCR which have often times have promotions to transfer to hotel points! BTW happy anniversary...mine was this month too :)

ReplyDeleteI don't do much besides buying VR's and stuff when my husband asks.
ReplyDeleteVRs I guess
ReplyDelete@ Ian - I have been doing it this year for their New Member Bonues
ReplyDelete@ Cameron - The coins were before I hopped into this game. However, I worked at a bank back then and their was a guy who would come in with tons of $1 coins contently. Now I know why
@ Cacinda - I am with you on the US Airways Grand Slam - did crazy things
@ Error- Bluebird and Vrs are crazy - my friend/ family don't understand why I do it
@Justin - IHG bonus are very lucrative, especially when you stack them
@ Elenia & James - I could image. I do Coke Points now and I am digging though trash for people's caps at work
@ Lauren - I agree - Mileage/ Mattress Runs are crazy. My last one was BWI to SFO in one day. Left my house at 3am Sat and got home 2am Sun.
@Standing, Nat, Rui N. - VRs are crazy. This past weekend, I forced my friends to take a 20 min detour to stop at a CVS for ice cream
Keep the craziness coming! Later this week, I will talk about some of my craziest antics in the name of points.
Mattress running to Club Carlson hotels all around Texas for the Big Night Giveaway
ReplyDeleteNot exactly for points, but in order to get my interest on my checking accounts each month I normally make an extensive trip to Kroger/gas station where I buy either 5 to 10 bananas or about a quarter of gas one at a time. I go through the self check out at the grocery but I always get pitying looks.
ReplyDeleteCraziest thing I did was try to hit all four Club Carlson deals last summer for the Big Night Giveaway; including flying to Minnesota to stay at the only Park Plaza in the U.S. =)

ReplyDeleteBouncing between 3 different Hyatt Places in one city for 3 stays in three nights.
ReplyDeleteI take surveys for points. So far, I've earned nearly 8k. It adds up quickly!
ReplyDeleteDumpster diving for my coke reward codes so I can turn those into IHG points. Dumb I know.
ReplyDeleteI've done things man... I've done things... :(
ReplyDeleteLOL nothing like the crazy stories I'm reading here, so I don't feel too bad now :)
I'm new to points but I found your blog and I am following the 32 ways to earn points for United and took up the 75,000 point challenge, I'm waiting for it all to be credited but since August 15 I have earned 73,250 points not including a flight- it can totally be done, thanks for the tips! Also, my parents are switching to Direct TV so I may get those points too
ReplyDeleteI bought a computer for my brother with my card, not too rediculous, I ended up getting Miles for using the card, Miles for using the portal, Best Buy rewards, and my brother payed the bill- not bad!
ReplyDelete@ Dylan - Mattress running can be tiring. I have one tomorrow.
ReplyDelete@ Manda - Any way to save money!
@ Tiff - Flying for a one night mattress run is extreme.
@ Uri - which promotion was this for?
@ Matthew - I know the feeling bouncing from one hotel to the

@Danluttell - hahahah! The extremes we go for points.
@amauri -we all doing things. Let's share them.

I used to play an online game where you'd get rice for people in starving countries by answering correct vocabulary questions... crazy system for getting points.
ReplyDeleteGave my mother-in-law an employee card from my Ink account to furnish their new home. Some may see this as normal...if you knew my mother-in-law, you'd see it as crazy.
ReplyDeleteGot a bunch of Vanilla cards from CVS
ReplyDeleteBought a bunch of Iceland Air miles for krónas on the $$$ to redeem on Alaska...only to have them pull the ability to do so. Grr, now have to find something to do at KEF before they expire.
ReplyDeleteClub Carlson Big Night Give Away last year. Drove to Houston to stay at a Park In. On the way my car got hit by a mattress so the 500 dollar deductible I had to pay really ate up any benefit!
